10 Tips for Successful Cupcake Baking

1/ Always bring your ingredients including butter and eggs to room temperature.

2/ Measure your ingredients accurately and make sure you don’t miss anything out. It  may help to write the recipe on a scrap piece of paper, and tick off each ingredient once you’ve added it to the mixture.

3/ Line your cupcakes with a clean pan and ensure the cases are sitting in the pan correctly.

4/ Ensure you are using the correct size pan for the size of your cupcake cases i.e. muffin cases to be used in a muffin pan.

5/ Bake your cupcakes at the correct temperature. An oven thermometer is a must,  your oven maybe up to 20C out in temperature, regardless of whether your oven is new or old.

6/ The cupcakes are cooked when the sponge spring backs when touched.

7/ You can also check your cupcakes are ready with inserting a cocktail stick through the middle of the cupcake. If the stick comes out clean then this is another indicator that they are ready.

8/ Let the cupcakes completely cool down before decorating them.

9/ If your cupcake cases or liners start to peel away once they’ve been cooked, check out our blog post as to why this may have happened

10/ Cupcakes are best eaten fresh on the day they are baked or the day after. They can also be frozen . For more information on storing cupcakes see our tips on storage here.

Hi I’ve been watching cupcakes baking in youtube. I just want to ask after pre heating the oven. What is the right temperature of the oven once the cupcake will be baked? Is the temperature will be the same when I preheat the oven and when I will bake the cupcakes?
