A taste of the Pudding Club

It’s the 14th February and  it’s Valentine’s Day!

Last Valentines my husband took me to one of my favourite places for the weekend – the Cotswolds, in particular the beautiful Three Ways Hotel which happens to be the home of The Pudding Club. I have visited this hotel several times over the years, and not only is it set in the idyllic village of Mickleton, but the food is delicious and the puddings are to die for. I used to stay here on business for a week at a time, and I would always gain several pounds after days of pudding indulgence.

Whilst reminiscing, and wishing we could have made it back again for Valentines weekend, I came across a selection of ‘Pudding Club’ Puddings in my local Waitrose. I stumbled across them completely by surprise, so you can imagine my excitement realising that I could have a ‘Pudding Club’ pudding not only at home, but at home over Valentine’s weekend.  What a result!

I bought the ‘Treacle Pudding’ and the ‘Sticky Toffee Pudding’ and they didn’t disappoint. Both puddings had a delicious moist, light sponge with a perfect amount of topping. The ‘Treacle Pudding’ was always one of my favourite puddings after a Sunday lunch whilst I was young, and this one tasted as good as I remember. Moist and sweet, and has to be accompanied with custard. Perfect if you have a sweet tooth. The overall favourite was the ‘Sticky Toffee Pudding’, my husband and I loved the toffee sauce and the balance of the sponge combined with the smooth subtleness of the dates.

I’ll definitely buy these again when I’m short of time to make a pudding from scratch.

    Hi Tracey
You lucky lucky girl! We spent Christmas week at The Three Ways one year and it was just the most fabulous place….just the right size, a beautifully themed bedroom, scrumptious puds and wonderful countryside to walk them all off in!
