The Magenta Cakes Blog is written by me Tracy Stonard. Why the name ‘Magenta Cakes’? Well, the colour Magenta is my happy colour. It was there on my wedding day and when my son was born. The colour is strong and it also represents passion, warmth and happiness.
When I started baking and deliverying cakes to offices in 2009, I wanted these qualities to become part of my business and the products I created.
The blog began in 2010 as an extension of the cake business. I was keen to write about anything cake related and to show pictures of the cakes I had baked, with the odd recipe thrown in.
The business has evolved over time, however I’ve consistently posted on the blog between 1-3 times a week since it began. The blog now has tens of thousands of visitors a month and as such I was listed as one of ‘Sainsbury’s favorite food bloggers’ in Dec 2012. I regularly have my recipes and photos published in Cupcake Heaven and Baking Heaven magazine. I have also recently collaborated with the Good Food TV Channel.
I no longer sell cakes commercially, and spend my time writing, blogging and teaching.
