Cupcakes For A Winter Wedding

A Happy New Year to you all!  I have to say that I’m excited about 2011 from both a work and personal perspective, and can’t wait to get started on a number of projects. One project includes the  launch of our forthcoming cupcake decorating classes, details on the Magenta Cakes website will be announced in the coming weeks. All very exciting, as well as lots more baking and blogging!

For this blog post I wanted to share with you the wedding cupcakes I recently made for a beautiful winter wedding, set in the heart of the Northamptonshire country side at Crockwell Farm.

The overall theme combined winter and romance using whites, silvers, fairy lights and candles with a silver snowflake used as the main visual cue throughout the day.

The planning and stunning detail that went into the wedding was evident throughout .  A ‘best wishes’ tree for the guests to leave messages on, a photo frame of past family generations and stacked cheeses shaped as a wedding cake to name a few!

We provided the guests with chocolate cupcakes topped with a blue butter cream swirl, a sprinkling of white sugar crystals, finished off with a hand crafted white glitter snowflake. These were given to the guests as wedding favours and placed in a personalised clear box, enabling the guests to take them home safely.

I hope the guests enjoyed them!
