In the Kitchen this week…

I had the pleasure of making some yummy chocolate and vanilla cupcakes this week for a Confirmation party. The client wanted piped chocolate butter cream rose swirls with hand made sugarpaste lettering saying ‘James Confirmation’. Each cupcake had an individual sugarpaste letter attached to it and was coloured using  ‘Ice blue’ colour from Sugarflair.

I’m also in the process of making around seventy miniature handmade roses for a special wedding order next week.  I’m unable to show any pictures of them yet, but once the bride has seen them I’ll share the pictures on the blog.

And while we’re talking all things cupcake, have you seen this?

Adorable isn’t it? However it’s not one of my own creations, but a card I received in the post from a lovely lady who recently attended one of our cupcake workshops.

It read:

“ Dear Tracy,

Just wanted to say a big Thank You for a fantastic morning.

Your class was fab, you are a true inspiration. The passion which you have clearly shows and it’s rather infectious!

It’s so nice to meet someone who truly believes in what they do.

Wishing you every success & hope to stay in touch.

Miriam”

This card made my entire week. Thank you so much Miriam for your kind words, I was very touched!

Another great moment I wanted to share, was that I was contacted this week by two previous students who have informed me that since coming to my class, they too have started their own cupcake business!

It’s a brave step to start a business, and I sincerely congratulate both of them for taking action and chasing their dreams. If Magenta Cakes has contributed in making this happen then that’s the icing on the cake for me (excuse the pun!).

Happy Baking!
